Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Banyuwangi was hit again on Sunday morning by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter Scale.
The meteorology and geophysics office said the quake struck at 00.35 local time with epicenter 10 kilometer below the sea around 274 kilometers southwest of Banyuwangi or 286 kilometers southwest of the Bali capital of Denpasar or 938 kilometers southeast of here.
Yesterday at 23.22 local time, a strong quake 5.8 on the Richter scale with epicenter in the sea at a depth of 32 kilometers, 276 kilometers southwest of the East Java city or 938 kilometers southeast of Jakarta.
Banyuwagi has been reported being jolted by quakes several times earlier this month but not casualty or damage to property had been reported.(IGT)
