Denpasar (Antara Bali) - More than 107,700 Malaysian tourists visited Bali in the first half of this year, putting Malaysia in the third place among top ten sources of Bali's tourist arrivals, according to the local statistics office.
The Malaysian tourists represented 7.55 percent of the overall tourist arrivals in the first semester of 2012 reaching 1.42 million, Head of the Bali Provincial Statistics Office I Gde Suarsa said here on Monday.
Compared to the same period last year, the Malaysian tourist arrivals in the January-June 2012 period jumped 29.01 percent, he said.
As a result, Malaysia overtook Japan as the third biggest source of Bali's foreign tourist arrivals over the period, he said.
Gde Suarsa noted that the number of tourists from the top ten sources of Bali's tourist arrivals increased significantly in the first semester of 2012.(IGT)
