Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named two suspects, known by the initials JGD and TH, in an alleged tax corruption case, said a KPK deputy.

"Three people were arrested on Wednesday, and two of them - namely, JGD and TH - were named as suspects on Thursday," the KPK's deputy chief for prosecution, Bambang Widjojanto, told the press at the KPK building here on Thursday.

He said that the anti-graft body, after conducting an exposé, decided to raise the status of the alleged corruption case from the examination to the investigation level. Thereafter, it issued an investigation order letter containing the names of the suspects. The KPK will carry out the investigation.

"KPK has a strong legal basis with regard to the alleged corruption crime. Therefore, the KPK itself will carry out the investigation," Bambang remarked.

"We are not yet able to provide information on the motives of the case suspects and the other parties involved, because we are still examining the case," he declared.

He said that if the KPK found strong evidence of the involvement of certain parties, it would not refrain from arresting them.(IGT)
