Jakarta (Antara Bali) - North Korean President Kim Yong Nam is scheduled to arrive here on Sunday for a four-day working visit during which he will meet with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
During the visit, President Kim will be accompanied by three ministerial-level officials, Teuku Faizasyah, President Yudhoyono's special aide for international relations, said in a press statement on Sunday.
President Kim is slated to pay a courtesy call on President Yudhoyono on Tuesday (May 15). At the meeting, the two leaders will hold bilateral talks, he said.
Faizasyah said President Yudhoyono will hold a state banquet in honor of the North Korean leader on Tuesday night.
"Indonesia has established good relations with North Korea since the two countries opened diplomatic ties in 1961. The bilateral meeting between President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and President Kim Yong Nam will serve as a good momentum for the two countries to foster relationship between the two nations," he said.
Besides discussing steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation, President Yudhoyono and President Kim will also discuss geopolitical issues in the region during the meeting, he said.(*/T007)
