Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Prosecutor demands four years of jail sentence for Nunun Nurbaeti, suspect of bribery case during Miranda Goeltom`s election in 2004 for the central bank senior deputy governorship.
Nunun has been accused of distributing 480 travel cheques to parliament members, worth Rp24 billion, in violation of the law on corruption.
The case was first revealed by a politician from the Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP), Agus Condro, leading to the imprisonment of Parliament members from the TNI (military)/Police, the Golkar Party, PDIP and PPP (United Development Party) factions.
The prosecutor during Monday trial said Nunun Nurbaeti is guilty for giving bribe money for several members of the House of Representatives to elect Miranda Goeltom as the central bank's senior deputy.
Apart from suggesting four years of jail sentence, the prosecutor also asked the judge to oblige Nunun to pay Rp200 million fine or an extra four months in prison.(IGT)
