Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The Bali administration has stepped up its fight against rabies by allocating more funds this year, an official has said.
"The funds for rabies eradication this year is Rp13.8 billion, while last year it was around Rp12 billion," Putu Sumantra, the head of the Bali animal husbandry and animal health service, said here on Tuesday.
The funds are partly from the Bali regional budget and the rest from the state budget.
The budget has been increased because the rabies eradication program this year will also include a new drive to control dog population.
Under this population control drive, female dogs would be spayed by injecting a certain hormone. (IGT/T007)
