Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Victim and Witness Protection Agency (LPSK) to give protection to Mindo Rosa Manulang, a key witness in the corruption case of Muhammad Nazaruddin.

"KPK has asked for maximum security so that Rosa will be able to give her testimony in the court," KPK Deputy Chairman Bambang Widjojanto said here on Thursday.

It was earlier reported Rosa spent the night at KPK on Wednesday after telling KPK investigators during questioning about a death threat she had received.

"The investigators felt it was their duty to report Rosa's information to the KPK leadership," Bambang said.

He said maximum protection for Rosa was needed to ensure objectivity in the investigation and preempt any external  pressure on the witness.

Rosa during questioning said she would like to have full freedom in giving her testimony in the case of bribery in the Wisma Atlet development project involving Nazaruddin who is a former treasurer of the ruling Democrat Party, Bambang said.(IGT)
