Kupang (Antara Bali) - TransNusa Air will start serving the  Kupang-Makassar flight route using JET BAe-146/200 plane on December 8, 2011, its business development manager said.

"Using four engines owned by Nusantara Air Charter (NAC), it will take one hour and 20 minutes for the plane to fly from Kupang to Makassar," Budhy Syahronia Karsidin said here on Sunday.

The plane has a capacity of 88 seats plus four VIP seats.

The opening of the new flight route was expected to meet customers' demand for comfortable, fast and punctual flight, he said.

"The jet-engined plane will depart from Kupang at 09.30 central Indonesian time and from Makassar at 12.00 central Indonesian time. The plane will serve the Kupang-Makassar flight route three times a week, namely on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays," he said.

He said TransNusa Air also had increased the frequency of its flights from Denpasar to Labuanbajo.

"Previously, we served the flight route seven times a week. And the number of flights has been raised to 10 times a week also using JET BAe-146 plane," he said.

He said the airline also had raised the frequency of flights linking Kupang to Ruteng to seven times a week from five times a week using Fokker 50 planes.

"We hope we can provide maximum services to all of TransNusa's loyal customers by opening new flight routes and raising the frequency of flights to several areas," he said.(*)
