Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Leaving leaders of the  19th ASEAN Summit from their venue in Bali, Indonesia, left messed up flight schedules, and stranded hundreds of passengers at Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.

The situation in the  domestic terminal at Bali's international airport was packed with stranded passengers whose flights had been delayed, most of them had to sit on the floor, because of the lack of seats.

Departing plane schedules are also uncertain due to operational problems, an Indonesian Lion Air stewardess announced through the airport's domestic terminal.

"We are sorry for the delay and inconvenience," she said after she announced the Denpasar-Jakarta flight JT-0015 which was  supposed to leave from 16.10 to 17.50 local time.

A similar situation was also experienced by an ASEAN Summit press official from the Ministry of Communications and Information  Gatot S Dewabroto.

Gatot was listed as a Garuda Indonesia passenger scheduled to leave for Jakarta at 16.00 local time, but the flight was three hours late.

Airplane departures and arrivals had been delayed at Ngurah Rai airport since the return of the leaders, heads of state, and delegates who participated in the 19th ASEAN Summit which was concluded on Saturday (19/11).

Earlier, a similar flight schedule was also messed up  at  arrival time of the state guests, including  U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday (17/11).

Apart from messed  up flight schedules which caused delays in  arrivals and departures of the ASEAN leaders and  delegates, it also caused  serious traffic jams in road between Denpasar and Badung regency.(*)
