Kuta (Antara Bali) - Publicly-listed cellular phone operator PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL) has spent nearly Rp2 trillion on developing data services this year as part of its commitment to provide better services to customers.

The fund was mostly used to increase the number of base transceiver stations (BTS) particularly in four major cities including Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan, XL General Manager for Bali and Nusa Tenggara Area Djie Yannes said on the sidelines of XL HotRod 3G + Fun Race here on Sunday.

"We have been focusing our quality data services on the four cities by building BTS 3G because most of XL customers are found there," he said.

Yannes said data services with 3G sites in the four major cities had a capacity of 3.75 G each.(**)
