Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali exports fish and shrimp valued at US$11.10 million in September 2017, up US$2.23 million  or 25.16 percent  from US$8.87 million in August this year.

"The export earning in September this year was US$3.13 million  or 39.24 percent higher than US$7.97 million in the same month last year," head of the provincial office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Adi Nugroho said here on Monday.

Adi Nugroho said the exports of fish  and shrimp contributed 25.16 percent to the total export value of US$44.15 million recorded by Bali  in September, 2017.

The total export value rose 2.51 percent  from US$43.07 in August  and by 8.99 percent from US$40.51 percent in September last year.

The largest part of the fish and shrimp exports were to China making up 27.32 percent , followed by exports to the United States accounting for 27.03 percent, Japan for 18.34 percent,  Hong Kong 6.12 percent, Australia 4.27 percent, Singapore 0.85 percent and the rest to Europe and other countries.

Adi Nugroho said shrimp and fish are among five largest export earners for Bali beside souvenir , garments , timber  products including furniture, etc. (WDY)
