Indonesia's Soccer Team To Face Vietnam Tuesday

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The trial match between Indonesia's soccer team and Vietnam in Hanoi's My Dinh National Stadium on Tuesday (Nov 8) will be the final test for the Indonesian national team before it plays in the AFF cup 2016 in Manila.

After playing against Vietnam, the national team (Timnas) will return home to continue training in Karawachi, Tangerang on Friday (Nov 11) before heading for Manila, the Philippines on Nov 17, 2016, Antara learned here on Monday.

Timnas coach Alfred Riedl will bring the 26 players, including Irfan Bachdim and Andik Vermansyah, to Vietnam.

Riedl noted that opponent Vietnam is a strong team, and believed it has the potential to win the biennial championship.

"Vietnam is a good team. I see they have speed and good technique. I believe Vietnam is one of the favorites to win the AFF Cup 2016," Riedl added.

Eight teams are expected to play in the AFF championship which will be held in Myanmar and the Philippines from November 19 until December 17, 2016. (WDY)
