Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo left for China here on Saturday to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) meeting scheduled in Beijing on November 10-11.

After attending the APEC Summit, President Jokowi, as he is popularly called, will proceed to Myanmar where he will attend an ASEAN Summit, as well as meetings with ASEAN partners, and later travel to Australia to participate in the G20 Summit.

"The meetings are important with regard to our national interest," vice president Jusuf Kalla said, when seeing the President off at Halim Perdanakusumah Airport.

He said the meetings will discuss increasing investment in infrastructure development projects in various regions in the country.

Indonesia is seeking significant investment to carry out various development programs, such as a "Sea Toll" to help create a worldwide maritime axis, as proposed by President Jokowi.

President Jokowi said at the Kompas CEO Forum on Friday that he would set up a one-stop service of investment licensing to smooth investment procedures.

Under the system, he said investors need not move from one ministry to another to receive an investment license. (WDY)
