Indian Tourists to Bali Up

Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The number of Indian tourists to Bali had increased from 2,565 in April to 4,061 in May 2010.

The increase in the number of Indian tourists to Bali had been expected by Tourism Minister Jero Wacik, a Bali observer of tourism  Made Sudana said in Denpasar Tuesday.

Jero Wacik when on an inspection of the Bali Tourism High School, had wished for more rich Indian tourists to Bali, especially as they have a traditional and historical close relationship with Hindus.

The number of Indian tourists to Bali had reached 14,116 in the January-May 2010 period.

Sudana who also owned a hotel in Bali hailed the efforts of the community, including their spiritual leaders, to promote and develop tourism in Bali.

In the meantime, the Raja Yoga Spiritual University, Brahma Kumaris, based in Maduban, Nothern India, had developed in Indonesia, including in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali, so that many Yogis came to Indonesia including to Bali.

The Yogis are not traveling alone to Bali, there are money of their followers including their students.(*)
