Denpasar (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono fully supports Bali's initiative to become the first "green" province in Indonesia, the resort island's governor said.
"We have also received expressions of support from various parties, including the director of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Bangkok who will be visiting Bali in the near future," Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika said here on Tuesday.
The governor who attended a workshop on Bali Green Province which involved various elements of Bali community, said turning Bali into a green, healthy, beautiful and clean province would not be easy.
However, he was confident that with the high commitment of and consistent hard work by regional government officials at all levels, and the cooperation of local religious and community leaders, the dream to turn Bali into a green province would be achieved.(*)
