Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The government decision to raise the the subsidized fuel prices was a bitter choice, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on his Twitter on Saturday.
"It is a bitter choice but the government has to do so to make the nation's economy healthy, and not to make the lives of people complicated in the long run," the president said on his Twitter account @SBYudhoyono.
The head of state noted that he did not want the nation's economy to become worse and eventually complicate the lives of the people.
He said the government this time has no other choice besides raising the fuel prices after in the past two years it did not do so, although the subsidy was exorbitantly high.
"The government does not raise the fuel prices because it counts the profit and loss in terms of political side, our burden in the future will become even heavier," he said. (IGT)
