Stockholm (Antara Bali) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met leading Swedish entrepreneurs here on Wednesday in his effort to step up economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was held at Grand Hotel before President Yudhoyono and his entourage left for New York.
Presidential special staff for foreign relations Teuku Faizasyah said the president met among others with the Chief Executive Officer of Swedish Business Group, CEO IKEA, and the leader of AB investor.
A press statement from Indonesian Embassy in Sweden said the country was an important Indonesia's partner with the highest bilateral trade value among the Scandinavian countries.
It said in the past five years trade values between the two countries showed a positive increase by 6.91 percent.
Total bilateral trade value in 2012 reached US$1.46 billion, or rose by 28 percent from that of previous year which was recorded at US$1.05 billion.
While Swedish investment in Indonesia in 2012 reached US$5.2 million with 11 projects, or increased more than fourfold from US$916 thousand with only 9 projects. (*/DWA)
