Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian government hinted on Wednesday that it will revise the 2013 negative list of investments (DNI) in a move to boost investment growth in the country.
"To improve the investment climate and competitiveness the DNI will be discussed again," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa said following a coordination meeting here.
Hatta said the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is in the middle of consulting relevant ministries to revise the DNI by constantly considering national interests.
"Everything related to investment has been set forth in the investment law. If all sectors under the preview of ministries limit the maximum amount of investment, the DNI will stumble because the DNI has lower status than the law," he said.
BKPM Chief Chatib Basri said the planned revision of the DNI is designed to improve the national competitiveness and investment climate so that the investment target of Rp380 trillion for this year can be achieved. (IGT)
