Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Three state-owned companies, Bank Mandiri, PT Pos Indonesia, and PT Taspen, have established a joint-venture bank so that the public can have wider financial access.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the President Director of Bank Mandiri, Zulkifli Zaini, the President Director of Pos Indonesia, I Ketut Mardjana, and the President Director of PT Taspen, Agus Haryanto, on the establishment of a joint-venture bank.
The signing was witnessed by State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan in Jakarta on Thursday.
"Cooperation between these three state-owned companies will allow the public to have wider financial access throughout the country, including in remote areas," said Dahlan Iskan.
According to the MoU, Bank Mandiri will be the major shareholder of the joint-venture bank. Pos Indonesia and Taspen will own 20.2 percent of shares each.
PT Pos Indonesia will invest Rp174.34 billion. It has 24,000 service points, 3,746 online post offices, and 11,835 postal agents.
Meanwhile, PT Taspen has more than six million customers in six major branch offices, 39 branches and three supporting branch offices.(*/DWA/IGT)
