Mataram (Antara Bali) - The government will reactivate cultural parks in 25 locations in various provinces, including in West Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to revitalize cultural arts and creative economic production, a minister said.
"The cultural parks will be reactivated in 25 locations. They can be used places to carry out training programs on pearl ornamental designs or as centers of creative economic development," Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said.
The minister disclosed the plan to reactivate the 25 cultural parks in a dialog with a number of entrepreneurs and pearl handicrafts-men here on Sunday.
The dialog was held after a grand harvest of pearl and the observation by the minister of a pearl outlet in the Lombok Sumbawa Pearl Festival (LSPF).
During the dialog, a number of pearl businessmen and handicrafts-men explained that their pearl ornament products were sill produced with traditional methods as handicrafts-men had never yet received a special training.
Mari responded to the handicrafts-men who were still self-taught in producing their pearl designs with a promise to provide them with a pearl design training program so that in the future West Nusa Tenggara would be able to produce enchanting pearl ornament products.(IGT)
