Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The hospital USNS Mercy crew members partner with Indonesia to provide medical treatment in North Sulawesi, according to the official website of the US embassy here on Thursday.
The hospital ship USNS Mercy has finished its first week in North Sulawesi, Indonesia as part of Pacific Partnership 2012 (PP12).
Since arriving in Manado on May 31, the ship's crew has a week of programs in cooperation with Indonesian counterparts from various offices and agencies, including the governor's office, military, police, and disaster response staff.
PP12, which is the largest humanitarian and civilian mission in the Asia-Pacific region, includes disaster response training and planning, free medical treatment onshore and onboard the Mercy, and veterinary and engineering programs to benefit local communities.(IGT)
