Gresik (Antara Bali) - Publicly listed cement company PT Semen Grresik in cooperation with Gresik district government will make a breakthrough in the development of alternative energy from garbage.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the cooperation to develop alternative energy from garbage for manufacturing industry was signed by PT Semen Gresik President Director Dwi Soetjipto and deputy Gresik district head Mohammad Qosim here on Thursday.
In that cooperation, PT Semen Gresik will recycle the garbage in Gresik with a special technology into alternative energy.
"The amount of waste in Gresik can reach 271 tons per day but unfortunately not all of them can be recycled into alternative energy," Dwi Soetjipto said.
He expressed hope that the innovative project would soon be implemented effectively to meet the need of fuel for cement plant in Tuban, East Java, in 2013.(IGT)
