Kupang (Antara Bali) - An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted Manggarai district in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province at 3.54 on Saturday morning, a meteorology official said.
Lasiana Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) spokesman Purwanto said here on Saturday the epicenter of the earthquake was located some 48 km southwest of Manggarai district on Flores island at a depth of 124 km under the sea level.
But Purwanto added there was on immediate report of casualties and material damage caused by the earthquake.
"We are still trying to ascertain if any people were hurt or suffered material damage," Purwanto said.
Meanwhile, BMKG reported earlier that at 5.50 on Saturday morning another earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Sangihe Islands in North Sulawesi.(IGT)
