Jakarta (Antara Bali) - PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), Indonesia's largest automotive retailer, said its car sales in the year to September reached 362,303 units, accounting for 54.90 percent of overall domestic car sales.
Data from the Association of Indonesian Motor Vehicle Producers (Gaikindo) issued on Tuesday show almost all ASII products recorded a surge in sales such as Daihatsu which rose 92.04 percent to 12,732 from 6,652 units in the same period last year.
Isuzu rose 69.69 percent to 2,520 units from 1,485 units, UD Trucks 26.95 percent to 292 units from 230 units, Toyota 66.84 percent to 30,738 units from 18,423 units and Peugeot 125 percent to 18 units from 8 units.
Overall, total domestic sales consisting of Astra and non-Astra sales grew 18.62 percent to 659,875 units from 556,240 units.(*/T007)
