Denpasar (Antaranews Bali) - Bali Regional Representative Council member Gede Ketut Nugrahita Pendit urged the community to participate in the success of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank (WB) annual meeting in Nusa Dua on October 8-14, 2018.

"I hope that the community would participate in the success of these international activities, as Bali has its own privileges, so the organizing committee of the IMF-WB annual meeting chose the location in Nusa Dua," Pendit remarked here on Friday.

He said the meeting is quite prestigious in the eyes of the world, so the committee has made all necessary preparations for the success of the event.

"Hence, I hope that the community would participate in the success in all fields, including following the government`s appeal relating to the meeting," Pendit noted.

He noted that all preparations had been made by the committee, including various locations that the IMF-WB meeting participants will visit.

"Delegates of the meeting participants, on the sidelines of their activities, will visit several regions, including tourist attractions on the Island of the Gods," he stated.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster had earlier appealed to people in the area to comply with the odd-even traffic rules for crossing the Nusa Dua area, Badung Regency, and surrounding areas during the IMF-WB meetings.

"We urge the public to comply with the rules for the successful implementation of the 2018 IMF-WB Annual Meeting. This is because the successful implementation of this activity will have a positive impact on the image of Bali as a tourist destination," Koster noted here on Thursday.

In order to ensure that the IMF-WB meeting is a success, the government issued Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number PM 97 of 2018.

The regulation regulates restrictions on the operation of goods and passenger cars on several road links related to the IMF-WB events.

Referring to the ministerial regulation, restrictions on the operation of goods and passenger vehicles will take effect from Oct 7 to Oct 16 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Central Indonesia Standard Time. (WDY)
