Indonesia wins gold in landing accuracy

Bogor, W Java, (Antaranews Bali) - The Indonesian national paragliding team contributed one gold and one silver medals in the men`s and women`s group landing accuracy category (KTM) at the Asian Games 2018 Paragliding event in West Java on Wednesday.

Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Chairman retired Maj. Gen. Suwarno said the achievements were the first from Indonesia in the history of the Asian Games paragliding event.

"Paragliding has been included as an event in the Asian Games for the first time," he said.

Indonesia fielded five athletes in the men`s group landing accuracy category, Aris Apriansyah, Joni Efendi, Jafro Megawangi, Hening Paradigma and Roni Pratama.

In the women`s group landing accuracy, Indonesia fielded three athletes, Lis Adriana, Ike Ayu Wulandari, and Rika Wijayanti.

It was reported earlier that as many as 130 athletes from 19 Asian countries would take part in the 2018 Paragliding Asian Games. (WDY)
