Bali arts, coffee promoted in IMF-WB spring meeting

Denpasar, Bali (Antara) - Bank Indonesia (BI) promoted Balinese arts and coffee during the Spring Meeting of IMF and World Bank (WB) held in Washington DC, the US, on April 16-22, 2018.

"We present the Balinese arts to show the world that Indonesia in general and Bali in particular, are very rich in culture," Causa Iman Karana, head representative of the Bali office of BI, Indonesia`s central bank, told Antara on the phone from Washington DC, Sunday.

On the sidelines of the Spring Meeting participated in by some 10,000 people, Balinese artists performed "Kembang Girang" and "Merak Angelo" dances.

Besides, Gus Teja, a famous Balinese flute musician, performed traditional music of Bali.

BI also set up a pavilion offering Kintamani coffee, and traditional Balinese woven clothes during the meeting.

Indonesia carried out a cultural mission on the sidelines of the meeting discussing the latest development of the world economic, he said.

IMF and World Bank will hold Annual Meetings in Nusa Dua, Bali, Oct 12-14, 2018.

Some 15 thousand people including governors of central banks from 189 countries are expected to participate in the Annual Meetings in Bali.
