Nagi Village-Bali to organize tour  of fire war

Gianyar (Antaranews Bali) - Pakraman Nagi Custom Village, Gianyar District, Bali plans to organize a tour package that includes seeing directoy Fire Mesabatan Tradition or fire war using coconut fibers.

"We have just come to the idea of a tour package that will include watching the unique tradition of Mesabatan Fire carried out every evening before the Seclusion Day in Nagi Village to increase tourist visits to Bali," A Traditional Head of Nagi Village in Gianyar District, I Ketut Marka said here on Sunday.

The plan will be conducted with the cooperation between tourism business players and hotel managers, he said.

So far only domestic and foreign tourists who happened to be in Ubud or passed by Ubud saw the unique tradition in Nagi Village.

More tourists are expected to come to Nagi Village due to the promotion of the tour package, he said.

However, I Ketut Marka is still not able to explain in detail the package yet because more meetings still have yet to be done between local people and players of tourism business to confirm it.

A local villager, I Wayan Harta Prima, agreed with the plan to include a unique tour package to be organized by local people.

"It will increase the income of the villagers and also promote our tradition to other people outside the village," he said.

Artawa, a tour guide also welcomed the idea of the unique tour package.

He said tourists had so far come to see the annual tradition of Fire Mesabatan because they happened to pass by Nagi Village.(WDY)
