Mangupura (Antaranews Bali) - The tourism promotion team of Badung Regency, Bali, participated in the "Internationale Tourismus-Borse" (ITB) Berlin in Germany on March 7-14, 2018, to highlight the tourist attractions abroad.

"We participate in the event to increase the visits of European tourists to Indonesia, and we especially target visitors from Germany," Chairman of the Regional Tourism Promotion Board Badung I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya stated here on Thursday.

Suryawijaya said he along with his team had continued to promote Bali and the tourism packages, especially of Badung, on offer in the booth to visitors in ITB Berlin.

"I think the idea of promoting Badung in Berlin and Munich is good due to their status as the main cities in Germany," he remarked.

He further explained that the promotional team of Badung participating in ITB had conducted a "sales mission" program through a seller and buyer meeting agenda at a "breakfast meeting" held at the Bristol Berlin Hotel and a meeting with "wholesalers" as part of the activities in ITB Berlin.

At the ITB Berlin, the group conducting the "sales mission" program to promote Badung tourism was led by Head of the Tourism Office of Badung I Made Badra, accompanied by Chairman of the Regional Revenue Management Board of Badung Rai Suryawijaya and Chairman of the Association of Guides of Indonesia Bali Sang Putu Subaya.

Meanwhile, a group of Badung tourism industry players that participated in the event comprised representatives from the Bagus Retreat Resort, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Double Six Luxury Hotel of Seminyak, Puri Bagus Villa Resort, and Payogan Hotel.

In addition, representatives of the Samaya Resort, Hotel Seminyak Beach Resort and Spa, Karma Resort Hotel, Lawalon Hotel and supporters of "sponsor vouchers" from the Bali Golf Association, as well as other Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association Badung participated in tourism promotion activities.

"We expect that through this exhibition, the tourism bureau will continue to pursue European tourists, especially from Germany, to visit Badung, Bali," he added.(WDY)
