Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika tested an electric car named ZBee that is designed in Sweden and is already produced domestically.

"I think it is a good move, as we want a green province. Electric cars are one of the economic developments," Pastika stated here on Tuesday.

The electric car was introduced by Per Brandt, a Swedish businessman who has long resided in Indonesia.

"This electric car innovation will be a good revolution for Bali in the future, as it has several advantages, such as causing less pollution, saving energy, and taking a smaller parking space," Pastika noted.

As a form of support, the governor has placed an order for a prototype car, with the words "Bali Clean and Green" printed on the car`s side-body.

He hoped the product would be on display at the Bali Provincial Government Development Exhibition in mid-August 2017.

Meanwhile, Brandt remarked that currently, the ZBee factory in Banyuwangi, East Java Province, has produced 12 units that are able to cover a distance of 60 kilometers, with an electricity consumption of two kilowatt-hours.

In Europe alone, especially in Sweden, the electric car has become a daily use vehicle. He believes the vehicle is ideal for Bali whose society is concerned about the environment.(WDY)
