Berlin, Germany (Antara Bali) - Indonesia registered transactions worth Rp6.5 trillion at the Berlin Tourism Fair, named Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB), in Berlin, Germany, with an investment value at Rp24 billion.

This was 54 percent more than the previous year's figure of Rp4.2 trillion, Deputy Assistant for Market Development for Europe, Middle East, America and Africa, Nia Niscaya, said here on Monday.

Indonesia was awarded the best exhibition award at the largest tourism exhibition, in which 10,000 participants from 185 countries participated.

According to Nia, the foreign exchange earned from the ITB Berlin shows that buyers this year were more loyal than those last year.

Meanwhile, the larger  revenue transaction was affected by the strengthening of the exchange rate of dollar against  rupiah.

The world travel industries hope the Indonesian Tourism Ministry's promotion package will be more varied, and will included activities such as adventure, diving and eco-tourism, based on the travel destination chosen.

Internationale Tourismus Börse 2016 took place on March 9 to 13 in Messe Berlin, Germany. (WDY)
