Blitar, East Java (Antara Bali) - The struggle to make the state philosophy of Pancasila as the foundation of the country is important, according President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"Nothing can become a reality without a struggle. If we want to realize Pancasila as the state foundation, we have to fight on," President Jokowi affirmed here on Monday in his speech to mark the conception of Pancasila.
Indonesians commemorate June 1 every year as Pancasila Day, the day in 1945 when Indonesia's founding father Soekarno laid the philosophical basis for what would become the new nation of Indonesia.
Jokowi noted that the establishment of the State of Indonesia does not mean that the struggle is over, but it should be undertaken with stronger commitment and efforts.
The president then urged his countrymen to re-live and carry forward the spirit of Soekarno to realize an independent, sovereign, and self-reliant Indonesian state. (WDY)
