Kuala Lumpur (Antara Bali) - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo arrived at Bunga Raya International Airport in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday evening to attend the 26th ASEAN Summit.

Malaysian Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi and Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Kerman Prayitno greeted the President and entourage in a military ceremony upon arrival at the airport at around 05.30 p.m. local time.

President Jokowi is scheduled to attend a gala dinner, along with other ASEAN heads of state/government and delegations at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) starting 08.00 p.m. local time. On Monday morning (April 27), the Indonesian leader will attend the opening ceremony of the 26th ASEAN Summit in the same venue.

The Indonesian President will return home after the opening ceremony. Vice President Jusuf Kalla will later attend the 26th ASEAN Summit until it is concluded. The 26th ASEAN Summit will consist of two sessions -- plenary session to be held in Kuala Lumpur and retreat session to be held in Langkawi, Kedah.

On the sidelines of the summit, the ASEAN heads of state/government are set to meet with representatives from ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC), ASEAN Youth Representatives and Civil Society Organizations (CSO).

The ASEAN leaders have also been invited to attend the 12th ASEAN Leadership Forum in Kuala Lumpur.

Besides a series of meetings held in Kuala Lumpur, ASEAN heads of state/government of the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) and the  Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) will hold a meeting in Langkawi on April 28, 2015. (WDY)
