Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said the government still has no plan to evacuate Indonesians from Egypt despite the current political upheavals in the Middle Eastern country.

"There has not been any plan to evacuate them yet. Despite the political upheavals our citizens there are still safe," he said in the Presidential Palace compounds here on Wednesday.

Marty said the foreign ministry kept monitoring the latest developments in Egypt and opened hotlines for Indonesian citizens who were in dire need of help.

He called on the Indonesian citizens to remain cautious. "Where the protection of Indonesian citizens is concerned it remains conducive. Our representatives have asked the Indonesian citizens to avoid large crowds of people," he said. (M038)
