Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian Buddhist Community (Walubi) fully supports President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's policy to help solve the conflict between Rohingya and Buddhist in Myanmar.

"President Yudhoyono has a right policy to solve the problem in Myanmar, and it makes us feel secure in Indonesia," Walubi spokesman Arief Harsono said during the peak event of Waisak Buddhist holiday here on Sunday.

He said Buddhist Community in Indonesia condemned the violence in Myanmar.

According to him, Buddhists together with people of other faiths wanted to live in peace and harmony, and therefore called on the conflicting parties in Myanmar to stop violent acts.

"Hatred will not be overcome if it is recompensed with hatred, but only with forgiveness and love the atrocity and animosity will disappear," he said.

Meanwhile, President Yudhoyono said Indonesia would continue to encourage the sense of peace and security among interfaith community in Myanmar. (*/DWA)
