Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) said it would reschedule its plan to execute the sentence of former Police's Criminal Investigation Department chief Commissioner General Susno Duadji after prosecutors' team failed to execute it on Wednesday.

"The execution plan will be rescheduled," AGO Spokesman Setia Untung Arimuladi told Antara here on Thursday.

On Wednesday, an execution team of the Jakarta High Prosecutor Office and the South Jakarta Prosecutor Office planed to take Susno from his residence in Jalan Pakar Raya No. 6, Ciburial Village, Bandung District, Bandung West Java.

However, the execution plan did not run smoothly because Susno resisted the execution order. His lawyer Yusril Ihza Mahendra came to his house to ask for his protection.

Susno was than taken to the West Java Police Headquarters. Until the wee hours on Thursday, the execution team from the prosecutor office continued to make effort to carry out the execution order but failed.

"The execution team finally left the West Java Police Headquarters at 0.15 Thursday morning," Setia said.

He said that the prosecutor office was firmed in its plan to carry out the execution of Susno's imprisonment because it was in line with the law.

"Of course we are working based on the law. So, we are committed to carrying out the execution," he said. (*/DWA)
