Nusa Dua (Antara Bali) - Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa has said the working group of Bali Process forum will focus on the human trafficking victims as a comprehensive effort to support them.
"This working group was established by the countries and international organizations during the Bali Process forum. Regarding the protection matter, we need to focus on the victim centered approach," said Natalegawa during the "Fifth Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime" forum here on Tuesday.
But, the Minister added they have not decided yet about the form of the help and support for the human trafficking victims that will be discussed further by the working group.
"The working group will define the kind of helps and supports to be offered to the member countries in order to ensure the human trafficking issues become the main focus," he said.
Besides the moral supports, Natalegawa added the human trafficking victims will be also empowered to be independent and get off from the trafficking.
The focus on the victim centered approach was one of the several steps that have been negotiated during the Bali Process. Indonesia was also offered two ideas of prevention and early detection to counter the human trafficking and smuggling crimes in the regional frame. (*/DWA)
