Bandarlampung (Antara Bali) - A suspect of corruption in the development of a heroes' cemetery development stood trial at the Special Corruption Court here on Thursday.

Sugandi (42), the director of CV Agung Jaya, the contractor for the project in the regency of Tanggamus in 2006-2007, was charged with embezzlement causing a loss of Rp217 million in state fund.

Sugandi and four other suspects were accused of enriching themselves with Rp217 million in state fund from the Tanggamus district budget in the project.

The development of the cemetery in 2006-2007 cost around Rp682 million, the prosecutor Denny Zulkarnain said in his indictment. (*/M038)
