Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Pakistani government has invited at least six Indonesian journalists from private and state media to visit the country.
There, the journalists will observe the country's political, cultural and civil society institutions, as part of an effort to prove there is democratic freedom in the region.
"All the journalists invited have good knowledge on Pakistan and are aware that the common perception of Pakistan being a rogue state is not true," the Pakistani Embassy in Jakarta said in a press release on Tuesday.
The Embassy stated that the journalists were scheduled to meet with several government officials and leaders, as well as with representatives of various non-governmental organizations in Pakistan.
The journalist visit program is a first-of-its-kind effort made by the government of Pakistan in the nation's history, the Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia, Sanaullah, noted.(*/DWA)
