Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) opened 3.74 points higher on Monday amid fluctuating stock markets in Asia.

IHSG increased by 3.74 points, or 0.08 percent, to 4.413,76 points and LQ45 rose 0.89 points, or 0.12 percent, to 754.76.

"IHSG opened slightly higher this morning, while Asian stocks were mixed, with a tendency to weaken after showing strong upward movement last week," Samuel Securities analyst Benedictus Agung said in Jakarta on Monday.

He noted that the lack of positive sentiments was responsible for the sideways movement of the regional indices. IHSG itself is assumed to be vulnerable to profit taking after a six-day-long rally last week.

"Some sectors that saw significant gains last week, such as crude palm oil (CPO), mining and property, are likely to see profit taking due to the lack of new positive sentiments," Benedictus added. (*/DWA/T007)
