Ambon (Antara Bali) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted East Seram district, Maluku province, on Thursday.

The quake's epicentre was located at 3.28 degrees southern latitude and 131.04 degrees eastern longitude, around 73 kilometres northeast of East Seram, and at a depth of 10 km below sea level, according to the Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

The tremor did not cause any serious damage or casualties.(*/T007)
