Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The value of the rupiah was virtually unchanged  from the level of 9,464 per US dollar in inter-bank trading on Tuesday morning.

"The rupiah did not change much in value this week. This week many data and agenda expected by market players to determine the directions of the movements of financial market instrument," market analyst Ariston Tjendra said here on Tuesday.

Ariston said announcement of monetary policy by the US central bank  will answer market expectation of quantitative 3 (QE3).

"However, some analysts said that QE3 would not be released  this month," he said, adding "if QE3 expectation failed the dollar will rise again."

He said the market hoped the European Central Bank  could do more to sort out the problem besetting the euro zone.

Analysts  predicted there would be no cut in interest rate but they expected large disbursement of soft loans  and buying of government bonds in secondary market, he said.(IGT)
