Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The government will soon revise a regulation on food labeling and advertising, Deputy Trade Minister Bayu Krisnamurthi said.
"The regulation will be revised soon," he said after attending a discussion on improving the competitiveness of food, beverage, herbal medicine and cosmetic industries here on Friday.
He said the government would revise Government Regulation No. 69/1999 on food labeling and advertising in order to adjust it to the international labeling standards.
"We will use the best practice in labeling standards. They will be more or less the same as those applied by other countries to our products," he said.
He said the government would only allow the use of stickers in Indonesian language for food products for a certain period of time.
"The use of stickers will be limited," he said.(*/T007)
