Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa here Monday met his Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd with whom he discussed a number of bilateral relation issues.
"There was no special agenda for our meeting, we only discussed how we can step up our bilateral relationship in a number of areas," Marty said after the talk with Rudd at the Foreign Ministry.
The two ministers among other things talked about ways to further cement bilateral ties in such sectors as the economy, investment, people-to-people contacts.
They also touched on consular affairs, people smuggling and the Bali Process.
In relation with the people smuggling problem, they agreed to hold further meetings on efforts to prevent and stop the criminal practice.
"Preventing people smuggling is not only the task of the Indonesian and Australian governments but of governments around the globe," Rudd said on the occasion.(IGT)
