All roads going towards the beach will be closed for vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, from 4:00 p.m. on December 31. However, police officers will begin sweeping vehicles from Kuta Beach at 2:00 p.m., Istiono explained citing measures aimed at avoiding congestion during the celebrations.
"Parking of vehicles will not be allowed at the beach. Bali Police have provided alternative parking spots," Istiono said, adding that tourists may park their vehicles at Pasar Seni (Art Market), a public park-and-ride at Desa Adat Legian (Legian Customary Village), Tri Sakti Field, Beach Walk's parking area, Bali Anggrek, Mall Bali Galeria, and Centro Mall.
Apart of Kuta Beach, Bali Police will also restrict the entry of vehicles in Bali's capital city, Denpasar as well as at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) monument, a tourist attraction in the island's southern region of Ungasan. (INE)
