Denpasar (Antara Bali) - New Zealand businesses grouped in the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) are abiding by the ban on beef exports to Indonesia, a New Zealand exporter said.
"We abide by the export ban although it is reducing (New Zealand's) beef exports," NZTE Business Development Manager in Indonesia Hary Permadi Kartono said here on Tuesday.
As a result of the ban, beef exports from New Zealand to Indonesia had dropped by about 60 to 70 percent, he said.
"New Zealand beef exports to Indonesia had significantly decreased in the last one year," Hary said when accompanying New Zealand Ambassador to Indonesia David Taylor in a "Taste New Zealand" program.
But New Zealand exporters could still export their beef to several other countries in Asia and Europe.(**)
