Jimbaran (Antara Bali) - Indonesia's Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said Indonesia should anticipate on protectionism policies as US President Donald Trump promised during his campaign.

"Indonesia should anticipate if President Trump takes protectionism policy then close its market, however, generally we have many options that can be our target markets," Sri Mulyani said here on Friday (Jan 20).

During her visit to Udayana University to deliver a general lecture, Sri Mulyani stated that some possibilities might be occurred if Donald Trump takes on fiscal policy to boost its national budget to drive infrastructures. "US economy will be stronger so that it will increase demand. It may be positive to us," she added.

Donald Trump, during his presidential campaign, stated controversies as his promise to deport immigrant, build a wall between US and Mexico border, protect economic policy and to leave US "allies".

Trump, a wealthy real estate entrepreneur, walked to the White House as the 45th US President after defeating his rival Hillary Clinton and collected 276 electoral vote. (DWA)
