Pekalongan, C Java (Antara Bali)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived here, Sunday, to attend a commemoration of the the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

The Head of State arrived by a Super Puma helicopter of the Indonesian Air Force, that landed at Widya Manggala Kriday sport stadium, Pekalongan, at 10:20 a.m. local time, from Ahmad Yani airport in Semarang.

Jokowi is in Central Java Province for a working visit.

He departed from Halim Perdanakusuma airport in East Jakarta, at around 8.30 a.m. aboard a presidential plane to the Ahmad Yani airport in Semarang, the capital city of Central Java.

The president is also scheduled to extend social aid and witness the handing over of a number fishing boats to local fishermen during a visit to the Nusantara port located in northern Pekalongan.

The Presidential entourage included Health Minister Nika F Moeloek, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadi Muljono, Head of Presidential Secretariat Darmansjah Djumala, chief of presidential security guard, Major General Bambang Suswantoro, and presidential special staff Ari Dwipayana.

Jokowi was also accompanied by Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Condro Kirono. (WDY)
