Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Foreign Trade Director General Partogi Pangaribuan has been named suspect in the dwelling time corruption case of Tanjung Priok container terminal in North Jakarta.
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police named Partogi a suspect after 12 hours grilling ending late at night on Thursday, Jakarta police spokesman Sr. Comr. Mohammad Iqbal said.
Iqbal said in a raid earlier, the police task force found US$42,000 in cash in the office of Partogi, believed to be graft money.
Police also found suspicious inflows of money to Partogi's bank accounts giving enough evidence for police to name him a suspect, Iqbal said.
He said Partogi was also charged with money laundering.
Police already named three other suspects in the same case including head of the sub-directorate of non imported capital goods Imam Aryanta, a worker of the trade ministry and an importer.
Iqbal said police will also summon other witnesses believed to be involved in the loading and unloading case in the country's largest port.
"It is not unlikely that investigations of the witnesses would lead to naming of more suspects," he said. (WDY)
