6.5 Thousand Air Passengers Affected by King Salman`s Arrival

Kuta, Bali (Antara Bali) - As many as 6.5 thousand passengers who will depart from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, are facing flight delays due to the arrival of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud on Saturday afternoon.

"This number can be increased to approximately 8 thousand passengers due to the various size and model of the planes operated in this airport," public relation head of PT Angkasa Pura I branch Ngurah Rai Airport, Arie Ahsanurrohim, told the press on Saturday.

He stated that 39 flights, both domestic and international, would be delayed for arrivals or departures.

Among those that will be delayed are eight international departures and nine international arrivals, as well as 14 domestic departures and eight domestic arrivals.

To avoid boredom of the passengers who are forced to wait for a long time, Angkasa Pura I, the management of the airport, is preparing traditional dance performances to entertain the passengers in the domestic and international terminals.

The state-owned airport operator also cooperates with the airlines, air navigation firm AirNav, and ground-handling officers to optimally serve the passengers impacted by the flight delays.

King Salman and his entourage of 1.5 thousand delegates are scheduled to arrive at the Indonesian Air Force base inside the airport complex on Saturday afternoon around 5.45 p.m. local time to board their royal airplanes.

The king and the Saudi delegates will be staying until March 9 to enjoy their holiday while also visiting some tourist destinations in Bali such as Besakih Temple, Tanah Lot, and Kuta Beach.(WDY)
